>American Idol – Is Phil the Next One to go Home ?

>Last night, the contestants had to sing songs by and old American singer who’s name I don’t remember ( “Tony Bennett” just looked it up on the Idol web site).

  • Blake Lewis – “Mack the Knife”

Blake sang first. I have to say, he’s definitely not my favorite contestant but apparently, he’s a crowd pleaser, he’s got many fans and he’s very confident. He’s going to stick around for a little while

  • Phil Stacey – “Night and Day”

I actually like Phil’s voice. He’s a good singer, there’s no doubt about that. He did loosen up a little bit compared to his previous performances, which is good, you could tell he was having fun, at least a little. But Randy just doesn’t like the guy he only had bad things to say about him. I still think that Phil needs to show more emotions maybe it’s the stress or the fact that he’s in the military but there is a lack of emotion sharing on his part, you watch and hear him but you don’t feel him…
He agreed with the negative feedback which is never good not that you should deny it but it doesn’t leave people with a good impression on you. Though he did manage to catch up by saying he was focusing on his wife while singing the song… still….I’m sure he did not get the most votes last night

  • Melinda Doolittle – “This is how you do it”

Melinda is a professional singer and her performance was none less than of professional quality. What more can I say?

  • Chris Richardson – “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore”

He’s performance was not bad -I didn’t get to see it completely though- . He received good feedback from the judges and he was happy, it was a good night for him.

  • Jordin Sparks – “On a Clear Day”

Even though Jordin is one of the favorites -at least for the judges- I didn’t think that her performance was too good last night. She seemed to be out of breathe, and forcing herself in the beginning of the song. AT the end though it became a bit enjoyable, not because of her vocals but because of the music. Simon’s comment was fair, she just sang the song well nothing more.

  • Gina Glocksen – “Smile”

Gina’s makeup and hairdo were not flattering at all. I don’t think she choose and excellent song for her voice, in fact I think she was boring last night.

  • Sanjaya Malakar – “Cheek to Cheek”

Sanjaya cut his hair, no he didn’t just take out the split ends, I think his hair is shorter of about two inches. But that boy was so confident I could not believe it. He’s a true entertainer, and he’s capable of what Phil isn’t…. -If only Phil could be more like that…..- It seems Sanjaya fans are called Fanjaya(s)

  • Haley Scarnato – “Ain’t Misbehavin”

I’m sure guys like Haley a lot. She has the sexy factor working for her. But frankly I was really bored by her performance…

  • Lakisha Jones – “Stormy Weather”

Lakisha was OK last night performance wise. She was wearing a really nice dress but the make up was less nice….

What can I say the show was a bit boring for me. If the decision were in my hands I would send Haley home… but I think this time it’s Phil who’s going to be voted off… Yeah I know it’s so sad just when he was starting to become my new favorite.
